About Guadalupe ...
Guadalupe Sponsor Site is located in the city of La Paz, which is Bolivia's capital and third most populous city. Also, La Paz is the seat of the country's government and the capital of La Paz Department. It is located on the western side of Bolivia at an elevation of roughly 3,650 m (11,975 ft) above sea level. Despite the fact that the communities of Huayllani and 23 de Marzo are within the city limits of La Paz, inhabitants of these communities face extreme poverty and isolation from the services and economic activities of the city.
In La Paz, a large number of people live in conditions of extreme poverty. Chalice’s Guadalupe Sponsor Site supports two poor communities in La Paz; Huayllani and 23 de Marzo. This Site strives to empower children and families living in extreme poverty through the Direct Family Funding (DFF) model of sponsorship, which means that the community, through the formation of self-help groups, and with direction from the Site, prioritizes their own needs and decides what they need and what goods to buy.
