Background and Location: True Destiny members live in Kipevu slum, Changamwe District of Coastal province, in Kenya. Their name implies that their present situation does not hinder them from a brighter future. The group is comprised of 12 women and three men who work as casual labourers and run small businesses.
Growth Plan: The focus of True Destiny is to elevate themselves through education and hard work. The group members wish to build their own small businesses to improve their livelihoods and capacity to provide and care for their families.
Your Impact: Destiny group members struggle to meet their daily needs and to get ahead because of the low wages earned as casual labourers. With your support, the group will be able to start small scale agri-businesses that will provide them the capital, skills, training and oversight to earn a better living.
