Norah is in her first year of studies at Kenyatta University. She finished her secondary schooling at the Starehe Girls' School in Nairobi, where she was awarded a place because of her excellent marks in primary school. At the prestigious Starehe School for Girls, a number of seats are given to exceptional students from poor families who could not otherwise afford a good education for their children. After finishing her studies at Starehe, Norah was accepted into university, where her ultimate goal is to become a journalist or to work in commerce. Norah is the only girl in a family of four children. Her family lives in a two-room brick house with a metal roof, in Meru, Kenya. In her free time, Norah enjoys reading, singing, acting and playing handball. Sponsorship will allow Norah to continue her studies in university and ultimately reach her goal of achieving a productive career and ending the cycle of poverty in her family.
