Juan David lives with his parents, one brother and two sisters, in a two-room brick house in Yapacani, Bolivia. He is in grade five at Franz Tamayo School and his best subject is Math. His favourite activities are doing his homework and playing soccer with his friends. At home, he helps by washing the dishes. Juan David would like to become an architect someday. At the Yapacani Sponsor Site, sponsorship provides families with the opportunity to become self-sustainable through teachable skills such as basic health care training, handicraft programs, and agricultural practices.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO SPONSORS FROM THE USA. We will send you a receipt for income tax purposes following the end of each calendar year. Chalice is not a registered charity in the USA, but Canada and the USA do have a tax treaty which allows a tax deduction under certain conditions. Basically, a resident of the USA may be eligible to claim a deduction against taxable income received from Canada. Please consult a qualified financial advisor to review your own personal situation. You can still sponsor if you don't require an official income tax receipt. We have many sponsors from the USA and we send them our heartfelt thank you.
