Helping with Hygiene

A 10 p.m. curfew, quarantining and phases for reopening. Sound familiar?

There is hardly anywhere in the world COVID-19 hasn’t touched, and our sites in Chile have been hit hard. In fact, one in 10 families involved with Chalice in the country has had contact with the virus.

Though the pandemic is ongoing, moments of hope continue. Chalice supporters, along with staff at our Santiago site, orchestrated one of them.

Staff found out this year the site would have access to a COVID money fund, and began figuring out how to distribute the money to those in need. In the end, they chose more than 100 children and their families to receive funding.

Welcome to Photo Friday! Each Friday, we share photo collections of our favourite shots from our sponsor sites around the world.

Keep the sun shining! It’s the last full month of summer, meaning it’s time to get out and enjoy the sun while you still can. Our top 5 ‘Sunshine’ photos remind us the sun is always shining somewhere around the world, even when the clouds around us are grey.

#5: Snackin’ In The Tree

The sun was shining at our CMAVIL site in Paraguay, and this guy took the opportunity to climb up high. Hey, you’ve got to enjoy the nice weather while it lasts! (As those of us in rainy climates know well…)

#5: Animal livelihood

Big things come from small creatures, and that’s certainly the case with these little chicks. These four siblings live together with their mom near Chalice’s Chiclayo site in Peru. Their mom, Magaly, raises pigeons and ducklings as part of her small business, and the kids love to catch them!

PHOTO FRIDAY: OUR TOP 5 “DREAMER” PHOTOS!

Welcome to Photo Friday! Each Friday, we share photo collections of our favourite shots from our sponsor sites around the world.

Summer is a time of possibility, especially for kids. It feels like anything can happen in the summer, doesn’t it?

With extra time off, many people use summer to make their dreams come true, whether that’s a dream vacation or finally getting back to writing that novel sitting in your desk drawer. Our top 5 ‘Dreamer’ photos remind us that almost anything is possible with a bit of work, support from others and of course, God’s grace.

#5: A Room of One’s Own

Gabriel used to do his studying at home in Peru on a bed or a chair, without any kind of extra space. Chalice supporters saw the need and stepped in to help. Through the Chalice gift catalogue, Gabriel received a new desk, chair and shelf to create a ‘study corner’ in his room. Now, he feels more motivated to accomplish his work. A dream come true!
