Leaving a gift in your Will (also known as a bequest) to your favourite charity is truly a wonderful way to ensure those you took great care of in your lifetime are cared for after you are gone. A bequest gift is also a wonderful opportunity to make that significant gift you always wanted to make but may not have been possible during your lifetime.

There can be many benefits to making a bequest gift, including:

Reduced Estate Taxes: Leaving a bequest gift can significantly reduce your estate taxes, which may make it possible to leave more for your loved ones. Chalice will issue you a tax receipt for the entire amount of your gift once it is received and it can be used in your final income tax return.

A gift that is flexible: A bequest gift can be made at any time, at any age and for any amount. It is fully revocable so you have that freedom at any time should your financial situation change.

Expresses your values: A bequest to your favourite charity demonstrates your commitment to children and families affected by poverty. It lets your loved ones know your values and provides a loving reminder of all you held dear in your lifetime.

Leaving a Legacy: A bequest gift will create a legacy that celebrates your life, your family or the life of a loved one that you wish to honour while leaving a huge impact on the lives of thousands of children and aged and their families.

Making a Bequest to Chalice: A bequest gift can be as simple as a sentence or two naming Chalice in your Will or adding a codicil to your existing Will.
