In mid-September, he had an accident during a track and field practice.
Santhosh was at hurdle racing practice when he fell. He had a sharp pain in this right wrist. His family took him to the hospital for an x-ray, which showed two broken bones in his forearm. His doctor told them he would need pins surgically inserted in his forearm for the fracture to mend properly.
Santhosh underwent the procedure and went home the following day in good condition.
His family is comprised of his mother and elder brother, Kishore. His mother helps in a childcare centre and is the sole earner for the family. The medical bills incurred by Santhosh's injury and emergency surgery amount to $527.37 CAD, which is more than his mother can afford.
The Tamil site staff learned of his injury, and knowing his mother's financial vulnerability, they have put forward a request for the full amount of his medical bills. This covers Santhosh's consultation, surgery fees, medicine, cast, and arm sling.
