But a bout of severe stomach pain began keeping Laxman from being able to work at all.
The stomach pain worsened and Laxman started having diarrhea and vomited blood. The family took him to a public health service center and the doctors referred him to a specialist. After multiple pathology tests, the doctor diagnosed Laxman with liver cirrhosis. They treated him with endoscopic procedures and he remained hospitalized for four days.
After his discharge, Laxman went home to recover, but he was still too weak to work. This had made Sahil's Chalice sponsorship funds the main way to meet the family's daily needs. The hospital issued a bill for $972.79 CAD, far beyond Laxman's present means. The Goa site has therefore requested to cover Laxman's medical bills. These include his medicines, hospital charges, and doctors' fees.
