Become a speaker for Chalice!

Since the inception of Chalice in 1996, the Deacon Speaker Ministry has been the means by which we have built Chalice into what it is today: Canada's largest sponsorship organization, with 56 Catholic mission sites in 15 countries. Through the support of thousands of generous Canadians, we are now helping over 50,000 children and elderly, and their families, build better lives.

For more than 20 years, deacons have been visiting parishes across the country, educating Canadians on Chalice's work and inviting them to support our mission - to reveal God's love in action by serving the poor, with the global Catholic community. Deacons preach homilies at weekend masses, telling the stories of the success that education brings to families and communities and how, with a very small contribution, we can help change the lives and futures of children, their families, and communities.

Do you have the desire to answer Jesus' call to provide comfort to our sisters and brothers, particularly children, suffering in poverty? God has given us the resources to share, so that children have the opportunity to be educated and healthy. It's our job to make it happen.

As a Deacon Speaker, you'll be provided with training and support and you'll meet periodically as a group with your fellow deacons and their wives to share insights and successes. You'll have the opportunity to travel to Chalice sponsor sites.
